What's The Difference Between Fees and Costs?

You don't pay a contingency fee attorney by the hour, instead, he works for a one third fee coming off the amount of the settlement. Additionally, if
the attorney expends costs advanced on behalf of the client for medical records reproduction, expert review, postal, demonstrative evidence, etc., those costs are also deducted in addition to the attorneys fee before distribution. Under Illinois Law, clients must be given a written Settlement Statement to include itemization of all contingency fees and costs.
