What is a Pre-Trial Conference:
Most judges make an attempt to assist the parties to resolve the lawsuit by compromise at Pre-Trial Conferences. These informal sessions take place without a Court Reporter, and both sides are encouraged to take into account the strengths and weaknesses of their respective cases. The Judge imparts his or her knowledge of current trends in jury trials, and may be the voice of reason to lean on a plaintiff or insurance adjustor who might not appreciate the weaknesses or exposure of their positions.
