The concept of strict liability generally involves defective products or dangerous drugs. A manufacturer of a product may be strictly liable for harm caused by its products deemed to be "unreasonably dangerous". Since the manufacturer is the best expert to ensure safety of its products, before introducing them into the stream of commerce, strict liability is a legal concept to offer greater protection to the public, as a victim is seldom in an equal financial or engineering position to challenge the manufacturer.
